Government seeks stakeholder's suggestions on Draft Central Excise Bill 2024

Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs, invites suggestions on draft Central Excise Bill, 2024 from stakeholders. Last date for submission of suggestions being 26th June 2024.

The bill proposed by CBIC, once enacted shall replace the Central Excise Act, 1944. Bill aims to bring a comprehensive and modern central excise law with importance on promoting ease of doing business and repealing old and redundant provisions.

The Bill comprises XII chapters, 114 sections and two schedules. Draft bill has been uploaded on CBIC website.
